Because ‘X’ marks the spot--the sacred spot!
David knew that this was where it ultimately belonged—at the site known as Ha Makom, The Place: The Place where Abraham offered Isaac; The Place where Jacob had his dream and said, “this is the Beth-El, the House of God”; The Place that David purchased and said “this is the Beth-El”...and The Place where Solomon built the true Beth-El and the fire of God fell!
