When we read the words of Zechariah or Jeremiah or Ezekiel—and then of Paul in Romans, we can be left wondering.
It is one thing to speculate about how a prophecy will be fulfilled, but there can only absolutely be certainty after the event. For example, Matthew frequently wrote, ‘this was to fulfil the words spoken by Isaiah’ or some other prophet.
At Pentecost, Peter was able, in a kind of ‘aha’ experience, to declare, “THIS IS THAT which was spoken by the prophet Joel…”
Needless to say, there will one day be many similar ‘aha’ moments about Israel as last days events unfold!
In my book ‘THE FUSION: Israel in a Biblical End-Time Scenario’ I pre-empt one of those possible ‘aha’ experiences with an explanation of how, for example the remarkable words of Zechariah about those days, may unfold.
I also propose that Saul, the anti-Christian zealot, who became Paul the apostle after his extraordinary encounter with the risen Christ whom he persecuted—is a ‘type’ or example in embryo of what will come about for his wider people. Many will have an encounter and epiphany not unlike his, in which they ‘look on Him whom they pierced’ as Zechariah 12:10 informs us!
Get this exciting read now, in paperback or kindle/e-book, and take the journey with me into the exciting ‘aha’ territory to unfold in the not-too-distant future.
Here's an excerpt from a Review by Professor W A Liebenberg...
‘The author beautifully captures the central theme of the book with a focus on the Biblical principle of Paul as the firstfruits and a representation of a re-grafted Israel. The analogy drawn between Paul's transformation from Saul of Tarsus to a believer in Christ and the potential for the "broken off" Israelite people to undergo a similar spiritual renewal is both insightful and thought-provoking.
The idea that God's hand remains sovereign over those who may have been temporarily set aside, just as He was with Saul, is a powerful message of hope and redemption. The comparison between Israel's historical wilderness experience due to unbelief and their current state of gradual restoration through recognition and acceptance of their Messiah is a poignant reflection on the overarching theme of faith, perseverance, and divine providence.’
